5/7/99

~ The Rock suffered a broken arm last Sunday in San Diego, California for the RAW tapings. The injury occured when he was thrown off the rampway onto the concrete floor by Triple H and The Undertaker. The Rock felt tremendous pain in his arm and didn't see a physician until several days later because he thought the pain might go away. After seeing a doctor, he was told that his arm is definitely broken and he may not be able to compete in his match with Triple H at Over the Edge. The Rock will speak about it during an interview this Sunday night on Heat.

~ UPN is very excited about the ratings they got with the WWF Smackdown show. UPN desperately wants to have Smackdown be a regular show on their station. However, the WWF have yet to agree to a deal with UPN. The WWF may be looking at a better deal with another station. The rumored channel is FOX.

5/6/99

~ Jerry Lawler was scheduled to do the announcing with Michael Cole at Smackdown. However, he was in Ohio testifying at a trial involving a civil suit of the old USWA. Jim Cornette was Lawler's replacement. Lawler also missed RAW the previous Monday for the same reason.

~ Chyna will appear on The Regis and Kathie Lee Show this Thursday. Check your local listings for time and channel. The interview was taped on 5/4.

5/5/99

~ Dory Funk was released from his role as the WWF training camp instructor. Dory ran the WWF's Funking Dojo, which was the training ground for the new WWF wrestlers, and for WWF wrestlers needing to get in shape. The camps will be moving to Louisville with Jim Cornette running them, along with former WWF referee Danny Davis. This new camp under Cornette is being set up like a minor league system where wrestlers will be sent to the circuit under Cornette and then on to Power Pro Wrestling in Memphis before being brought up to the WWF.

5/4/99

~ The break up Billy Gunn from the rest of D-Generation X has led many to believe The New Age Outlaws are more vaulable as a team. It's almost a lock that somewhere down the line the Outlaws will re-unite. However for just now, Gunn will wrestle as a singles heel and DX will disband. DX should come back together sometime this year, with Shawn Michaels returning to reform the group. Gunn has been promised a singles heel push for a while. Gunn feels that he can do well on his on, but many have their doubts.

~ Georgiann Makropoulos reports that Dr. Death has officially been released from the WWF. Williams was informed of his release during his tour in Japan. The Legion of Doom are also currently in Japan doing AJPW shows. However, they are still under WWF contract, but may also be released.

~ The Public Enemy have been released from the WWF. They have been telling people at local indy shows that they will be back in WCW. They could be back in WCW around June or July.

5/3/99

~ Dave Scherer says that Steve Austin will be going to Chicago and taping an episode of the Oprah show in June. Other guests on that show include Mariah Carey and Mel Gibson. It looks like Oprah, much like alot of other's in mainstream tv, realize the ratings power wrestlers like Austin can bring.

~ Dave Meltzer says that Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett don't like the tag name Canadian Country. The WWF won't use that name afterall. They could choose another name. However, everything indicates that the team is done, and will split into singles. Jarrett will align with Debra and pushed as heel, while Owen will continue his Blue Blazer gimmick.

5/2/99

~ Tank Abbott was flown to Connecticut for interviews and a try out with the WWF. Abbott has alot of confidence in himself and is said to be a little bit cocky. He told the WWF officials, that he would be a bigger star then Steve Austin. He is reportedly close to signing with the WWF.

~ Dave Meltzer reports that Steve Williams is expected to ask for his job back with All Japan Pro Wrestling at the Tokyo Dome show. Meltzer says there is no indication on the odds of it, since Williams is under a 3 year contract with WWF. He has a meeting scheduled with WWF officials after the Tokyo Dome show to discuss his contract release. Williams wants out of WWF and back in AJPW.

~ Sable’s second Playboy shoot will take place during May 1, 2 and 3 and may be published as early as September.

5/1/99

~ Steve Blackman will return soon with a new look and attitude. Jim Ross said he will show what being a "Lethal Weapon" is all about.

~ Mick Foley is experiencing some knee problems and may need surgery to repair both knees.

~ Kurt Angle who has been working several dark matches and is doing great in Memphis will be called up by the WWF by mid summer.

4/30/99

~ Preliminary hearings for Jerry Lawler on charges that he ran over the foot of a Memphis International Airport traffic enforcement officer will begin on 6/17. The story was that Lawler went inside the airport to get his baggage in front of the airport terminal. When he returned he received a parking ticket. The officer charges that Lawler ran over her foot in retaliation, though Lawler says she was never around the car when he drove off. The officer has been seen wearing a wooden protective boot on her foot.

~ Mick Foley returned to his childhood home. The same home he leaped off the roof in the backyard, in which he sent to the WWF. On his return, he climbed up on the same roof and didthe same leap. This will all be part of a feature article on Foley in the July edition of RAW Magazine to be released on 06/22.

~ The WWF did their first WWF Smackdown taping in New Haven, Connecticut. UPN doesn't want the show to be a live. UPN knows that some of the WWF's content needs to be edited on a live show.The WWF do not want to run a weekly Thursday show against WCW Thunder. UPN has yet to agree todo the weekly series. However, if the show does well in ratings, it will become a weekly series. Which will most likely happen, because of all national television company's, UPN is the worst asfar as ratings and quality. If it becomes a weekly show, it will be cut to an hour and be moved to Friday's.

~ Stone Cold Steve Austin will be appearing on Philly After Midnight this Friday morning. Itairs at 12:35-1:05 on Channel 6 WPVI, an ABC affiliate.

4/29/99

~ The woman who played Mrs. Cleavage, the mother of Beaver Cleavage (Mosh), is IFBB fitnesscompetitor Marianna Komlos. Marianna may get more physical in Beaver's matches. The WWF would also like for her to compete in some women's matches.

~ The Fox Files segment with Sable was originally scheduled to air last week but due to timeconstraints was held off. The segment will now be broadcasted on 05/27 at 10:00 p.m.

4/28/99

~ The WWF almost signed a deal with The Warner Brothers Television Network for Shotgun SaturdayNight to air on 200 WB affiliate stations a while ago. Wade Keller reports that the deal fellthrough when it got to the final level because a WB executive realized their parent company,Time-Warner, owned the WWF's rival, WCW.

~ WWF The Music Volume 2, has officially gone gold. This comes after the enormous success ofthe album's third version, which is currently ranked 38 on the Billboard charts.

4/27/99

~ Looks like when the WWF re-hired the Blue Meanie, they did so on a condition. The WWF has told Meanie that he needs to drop some pounds to be healthier and be more agile in the ring. Meanie is determined to lose the weight. The WWF also stated that if he gains anymore weight he will be terminated.

4/26/99

~ Dave Scherer reports that last weekend, Sid was seen at Titan Towers. No word on why he was their. There are rumors that Shane McMahon wants to bring Sid back in the WWF.

4/25/99

~ The Insane Clown Posse may be making their return to the WWF once again. This time they will be shown in more of a hardcore fashion. When they return they will be with Headbanger Thrasher. Thrasher is getting a new psycho clown gimmick, much like ICP's.

~ It looks like D-Generation X is going to be shaken up. As it stands now, DX consists of X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws. There is talk of adding Test as soon as he leaves the Corporation. Also, Shawn Michaels is rumored to return to DX as a manager. However, DX may be losing a members. Dave Meltzer reports that there seem to be plans again to start building a Billy Gunn heel turn. They tried this before, but decided against it because of the Outlaws' popularity.

~ Looks like Dok Hendrix might be getting more television time. There is talk of forming a new 90's style Freebird group. Two members are going to be the Hardy Boyz. The Hardy Boyz will get an entire new look. There are plans to have the Hardy Boyz desperately try and pledge for DX. However, after they get turned down, they will start their Freebird type gimmick and have a summer feud with the New Age Outlaws.

~ The woman who was shining The Rock’s shoes on RAW this past week was the same woman who played the role of Sean Stasiak’s sister in Memphis Power Pro Wrestling.

~ Dave Metlzer reports that the WWF broke off it’s three year contract with the highly regarded William Morris Agency when it came to representing talent and signed on with Endeavor Talent Agency as its first corporate client. The break up with the Morris Agency came when they were negotiating a feature for Columbia Pictures and Vince McMahon instructed the agency to pass on the project and the disagreement was enough to sever ties between the two sides with 18 months left on the contract.
